Melia Koh Samui was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at anywhere in the world. I highly recommend paying extra for a room with pool access. Staff: The staff were all genuinely friendly and attentive, the breakfast hostess/manager, the chefs at the buffet, BB at the front desk, the front staff that checked us in, the bubbly receptionist at the Level Lounge, the concierge who booked our trip to Angthong National Park (the highlight of our trip), all the waitstaff at the Breeza. The Hotel: Really one of a kind, we have never heard of the brand Melia but now we want to stay at more, and we want to visit Melia Koh Samui again one day. Location: A few restaurants, stores and coffee shops within walking distance, you would have more options on other beaches for sure but we thought it was just enough. The Beach: The sand both onshore and in the water was just average, the slightly silty type. There are better beaches on the island and at the national park islands nearby. If you’re not so picky about beaches, this beach will be more than fine. 10 more lounge chairs would be more convenient as sometimes they can all be full. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the additional outside bathtub was nice. Breakfast Buffet, Breeza and the Level Lounge: This is one of the best breakfast buffets for both food and service that you will find anywhere in the world. I also work in the hospitality industry and I can say these food and beverage facilities are managed very well. If you have Level Access, I highly recommend using it, we wish we visited the lounge sooner during our stay rather than later. The dishes we had at the Breeza were all very good. I was hoping to see dishes from the Josper grill (It’s quite a famous charcoal grill among chefs) but it seemed maybe they discontinued the use of the grill (?) It was nice to see Spanish tapas, especially Padron Peppers that are almost impossible to find in all of Asia.

At first I felt a bit overwhelmed with the maze of a design the hotel has done with the landscape. It felt like trying to fit in too many rooms / suites in this piece of land. Then I started to gradually find my way and enjoy the river pool going around the rooms with nice water treatments. (We booked room with pool access, would recommend those) The beach while one of the best in Koh samui , doesn’t compare to some of the nicer beaches you’ll find in other islands. The tide gets low half the day but when it’s ok it’s good for swimming. The area around the beach has a really friendly vibe with lovely restaurants by the sand for dinner or lunch and various massage places , we tried 2 spots both very good. The team at breakfast are brilliant and kind. Loved the Thai ice tea both black and green. Also loved the Thai dinner night, would highly recommend There’s also a small gym for a simple exercise and nice areas with table tennis and pool table. Overall it was a nice stay. A bit pricy when compered to the resort we stayed at in Phuket

We traveled in July 23 and loved the location and direct access to a beautiful beach. It was peaceful and lovely to swim in. The highlight was the winding pool which the kids spent most of their time in. Especially the water slide. Great for families where our kids met a lot of lovely kids to play with. The staff were lovely and the rooms were clean. It had all the shops we needed outside the hotel and lots of restaurants around to eat at. Easy to get to Fisherman's village and the main town Chaweng but we much preferred our location because it was quieter. Activities are held every day. My kids loved the Muay Thai class.

The Melia is a fabulous hotel with a great pool and a lovely beach. We were in one of the boat suites directly by the pool which also gave us access to the “level” which was special as it allowed you free snacks, drinks and cocktails throughout the day :-) a great bonus. Hotel is a 10 min ride to Chaweng or the lovely Fisherman’s village so easy access … pool was one of the highlights as were the staff they were all excellent and so friendly - Makham / Candy in the level looked after super well as did Lucy and the front reception team - great service

The apartments were very spacious and well presented. Staff were outstanding in hospitality and friendliness. Breakfast in the morning, gave a vast array for choice. The resort had many facilities highlighted by the number of swimming pools and proximity to the beach. Differently abled people may need to keep in mind. There are no lifts. We had a most enjoyable week. Would recommend a day and or night trip to Fishermans village for shopping and some great restaurants and bars.
